News from the Town Hall

  • To mark the Queen’s 90th Birthday there is to be a children’s & community ‘Party in the Square’ in the afternoon of Saturday 11th June 2016. See article in this Post magazine.
  • Dog fouling has been reported in the town. Please be aware that this is a reportable offence.
  • The Armed Forces Day is to be held in Llandovery on Saturday the 25th June 2016. Assemble at the Town Hall at 10.30 a.m. to parade to Llandingat for a service at 11.00 a.m. – see article in this ‘Post’ magazine.
  • Mr Matthew Page addressed the Town Council to outline his ideas that the British Mountain Bike Championship 2016 base their start in Market Square, Llandovery on the 28th August 2016. (Registration on 27th August 2016). The TC were in agreement and gave permission for this to take place. Congratulations was also given to Matthew on all that he has achieved.
  • LTC welcomes the start of the British Mountain Bike Championship 2016 from Market Square, Llandovery on 28th August 2016. (Registration day: 27th August 2016).

‘Turn On’ of Christmas Lights: 25th November 2016

  • Congratulations to the Young Farmers Club for their success in winning the Junior & Senior sections at the Carmarthenshire County Rally held on Saturday 14-05-16.
  • Rugby: Congratulations to Llandovery on winning the W.R.U. Challenge Cup, The SWALEC Cup, on the 1st May 2016 before a crowd of up to 6,000 people. Well done to all the Rugby players, for their wonderful achievements on the 1st May 2016 and throughout the year, and to the President Phil Davies, Chairman Handel Davies, Coach Euros Evans and Captain Luke Lewis. Congratulations to all!!
